These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the MatchBrain mobile application (the "App") and related services provided by Sajin Philip, an independent software publisher ("MatchBrain", "we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

MatchBrain is a free-to-play prediction game. All points and rankings are virtual and have no real-world monetary value. There are no in-app purchases, entry fees, or cash prizes of any kind.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country or region) to use the App. By using the App you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you should have the permission of a parent or guardian.

The App is available worldwide. It is your responsibility to ensure that your use of the App complies with the laws and regulations applicable in your country or region.

2. Accounts

You may use the App as a guest (browse-only) or create a registered account using Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for:

Providing accurate information when creating your account.
Keeping your account secure and not sharing access with others.
All activity that occurs under your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that engage in abusive, fraudulent, or disruptive behaviour.

3. The Game — How It Works

3.1 Match predictions

For each eligible match, you may submit predictions before the match kicks off. Each match presents five questions:

Match result — which team wins, or a draw.
First scorer — which team scores first.
Total goals — the total number of goals scored, in a set bracket.
Red card — whether any player receives a red card during the match.
Both teams to score — whether both teams score at least one goal.

Predictions lock at kick-off. You cannot submit or change predictions after the match has started.

3.2 Points

Each correct answer to a match prediction question earns 20 points, for a maximum of 100 points per match. Points are awarded automatically after matches are scored.

3.3 Tournament predictions

Before the tournament prediction lock date, you may also submit predictions for the overall tournament outcome, worth up to 500 points:

100 pts — Tournament champion
100 pts — Runner-up
50 pts each — All four semi-finalists (×4 = 200 pts)
50 pts — Tournament top scorer
50 pts — Tournament's lowest-scoring team

Tournament predictions lock on the date shown in the App and cannot be changed after that point.

3.4 Leaderboards and leagues

Registered users appear on the global leaderboard. You may also create or join private leagues with friends using a unique invite code. League scores are based on the same points system described above.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
Attempt to manipulate leaderboards, scores, or predictions by any fraudulent means.
Create multiple accounts to gain an unfair advantage.
Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or interfere with the App or its backend systems.
Use automated scripts, bots, or other tools to interact with the App.
Post or share any content that is abusive, harassing, defamatory, or unlawful through App features (e.g., league names, nicknames).

We reserve the right to remove any content or account that violates these rules without prior notice.

5. Intellectual Property

All content in the App — including but not limited to the name "MatchBrain", the logo, app design, graphics, and software — is owned by or licensed to Sajin Philip and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the App without our express written permission.

Football fixture data, team names, and competition data are sourced from API-Sports. All rights in that data remain with the respective rights holders.

6. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please read it to understand how we collect and use your information.

7. No Monetary Value; No Gambling

MatchBrain is a free skill-based prediction game. Points and rankings are entirely virtual. They have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for money or prizes, and cannot be transferred or sold. MatchBrain does not constitute gambling and does not offer cash prizes or rewards of any monetary value.

8. Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party services including Supabase (backend and authentication), Google (Google Sign-In, Firebase Crashlytics), Apple (Sign in with Apple), and API-Sports (football data). Your use of these services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices or content of third-party services.

9. Disclaimers

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

We make no warranty that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
Match data, scores, and statistics are sourced from third parties and may occasionally be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. We are not responsible for errors in third-party data.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App (or any feature) at any time without notice.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Sajin Philip shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim — which in the case of a free app is zero.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. Significant changes may be communicated within the App.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time for any reason, including a breach of these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time and delete your account as described in our account deletion page.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales for any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the App, unless mandatory local consumer law in your jurisdiction provides otherwise.
